Bottoms to go with top for 64 yr old

Hi Caryn!
I am 64 years young and a size 14-16. I have a beautiful top that is too short for me to wear as a dress (sadly) but doesn't look good with wide or bootleg trousers. What do you suggest?
Thanks and xxxxxx

Jocelyn

Hi Jocelyn
I would suggest trying a pair of fitted straight leg jeans – Wallis and Dorothy Perkins have some great dark blue and black options. You can also find more jeans brands in our Jeans shopping mall which gives details of an extensive range of brands as well as sites giving tips and advice.  I particularly love ilovejeans.com which offers lots of advice about styles and shape and they carry over 90 brands of jean. I often get asked by many women how long they can keep wearing their jeans but if you love to wear jeans and have a clear idea of what suits your body shape then there is no reason at all to give them up!

Perhaps trying wearing your jeans with a wedge heel, Bertie have some lovely stylish options at the moment or if you want to go flat then try a ballerina pump.

Advice for tall body

Hi, I’m very tall 1,74 metres and being a model is out of the question but I do love heels and boots but I’m very tall already…what should I do and what should I wear I’m very slender by the way…
L

Hi
Well firstly there is certainly no need to shy away from your heels especially if you love them – you are just very lucky that you can also carry off flats too! You are also fortunate that most styles will suit you. Many otherwise hard-to wear trends will look fab on you, so be adventurous with skinny jeans, prints (think florals, striped and graphics), brighter colours and more body hugging dresses.

I would also think about volume and texture. Look at pieces with pleats, puffs and peplums and adornments such as ruffles, beading and bows to add a feminine boost to your figure. A combination of textures like lace, satin, velvet, cotton and wool will also add complexity to your silhouette.

Finally put your waist in focus – define it – whether it’s with a belt, a dress that cinches or a top with a drop waist.

These are just a few tips to get you started and you can find full advice on how to your dress your shape and lots of tips to make you look fantastic in our ebooks. Take a look at our Tall and Slender ebook and we offer a full money back guarantee if you find that the book doesn’t help.  Also have a look at the tall section in our shopping mall to find clothes to suit your shape.
