A jeans story.

I shall be making a new jeans purchase sometime soon as the moment has come for me to enjoy a change in style from my ubiquitous low-rise skinnies (not pictured here).

Darn it they’ve been so good. I love them tucked in boots or with high and low heels and always under tunics and dresses.

The only thing they don’t work with is Birkenstocks on account of the fact that the drainpipe effect with larger clumpy shoes can and does make my feet look massive!

So before I start the search for this season’s high rise bootcut, (finding the right fit is something I tell you all about in my jeans ebook free when you order one of the body shape books) I thought I would show you a pic of me in jeans, pioneering a look that will be big (well in certain circles) next season.

These jeans are actually nearly 20 years old, as those of you with an eye for denim print design will recognise. (Although they have had ‘work’ meaning I took them to my friends at Junky Styling to alter slightly as the original shape was a bit Hip Hop).

Now then, when I wore these last to Graduate Fashion Week, I was chairing a workshop with guests including designer Henry Holland. That was back in June!

Well blow me down if I didn’t see a whole raft of very similar looking styles on Henry’s catwalk in September. This means the collection sponsored by Levi will be rolled out next spring

My point here readers is…

That everything is cyclical.

That Vivienne Westwood the maker of the originals is a doyenne.

That sustainable clothing is effortless.

That I’ve still got it!

More about my new jeans when I get them.
