Stunning Women

It’s not often I feel underdressed when I’ve got one of my favourite Vivienne Westwood dresses on, but check out these three stunners I shared the stage with recently.

Yes I thought you’d like to see a blast of glamour, while you multi task at your desk (you are reading this after all).

They are all wearing outfits from a marvellous boutique (although it’s practically a warehouse in size) based in Market Bosworth. The reason for such large premises is so that they can house a great size range, which is good news all round.

And the reason I’m chilling out with them on the “How to Look Good Stage,’ is because we’ve just done a show together featuring clothes for MOB’s and MOG’s

That’s Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom if you were wondering.

I know from your comments that so many of you are feeling the need for an altogether funkier outfit and don’t fancy the ‘trad’ MOB look of matching frock and frock coat.

Well neither will I if I ever happen to be lucky enough to host a bash for one of my girls. (This from someone who got married in a black cocktail dress and Gucci wrap-around shades in her lunch hour with no family present)!

Anyway my point is that we are all upping the ante when it comes to defining our look. And there is no reason why any woman can’t look hot whatever her age.

Ageless style is about understanding what suits you and knowing that whatever the magazines trot out about trends, you will write your own style manifesto.

I write this wrapped up in a big piece of sloppy knitwear and skinnies. My hair is scraped back and I’m wearing just a touch of lip gloss.

I’m comfortable, warm and suitably attired for answering the door and receiving couriers, as I did just now. What are you wearing?

Wow! These ladies look lovely!!! How superb are these outfits? I am quite convinced that my two (adult) children will either not get hitched or go off somewhere on their own to do it, but if they do decide on the more traditional affair then what inspiration these outfits provide!
Really loving the site and blogs but I have just one small niggle….I am all for celebrating women in all sizes and shapes but do feel that the jury is out almost everywhere on the small size front. I am a (natural) size 6-8, ie; I definitely don’t starve myself to stay small and perfectly formed but other than Principles and Next we seem to be a neglected breed on the high street.
The fact that all of us are encoraged to feel comfortable in our skins these days is one of fashion’s success stories but if you are over a certain age, petite clothes can be very uninspiring, with manufacturers associating small women with candy colours and twee designs! I love edgy clothes and often long to wear the same designs as my ‘normal’ sized sisters! I don’t know what others think, has anyone found secret supplies of trendy not twee petite clothing anywhere??? Being 5′2″ means that not only does everything need to be taken in but taken up as well!! Aaaarrrggghh!!
Niggle over, do keep up the excellent work Jane and Caryn!

Point taken Lyn, the two independents I often reccommend are Karen Gillam and Petite Affair. But I know what you are saying.

For high fashion Jaeger have really upped their offer and carry a limited stock of petite ranges also Topshop. All are in our shopping mall.

Let me know what you find.
