This week I am mostly wearing…

Last night’s Prima Highstreet Awards, required that I be marvellously groomed for spot on stage to present the Fashion Target’s Breast Cancer, retailer of the year award. It’s a regular for me and I have been co-chair of FTBC with designer Amanda Wakeley for ooohh 12 years now.

I had everything laid out to step into immediately after work but like so many instances this month, the weather caught me out with an unexpected temperature rise and I changed my mind at the last minute!

I was about to trial my over the knee boots for their first public outing, but once in my ‘look,’ I realised I was a bit wintry for an indoor stage moment.

So I ripped it off (not easy with wet nails and a car waiting) and threw on my summer season Vivienne Westwood acquisition. It hasn’t had a good outing since the ‘Hello,’ shoot so I was pleased to feel a tad more summery.

Bare arms yes but I kept my black legwear, because it wasn’t that warm, and added a brand new Suzy Smith clutch bag for a trans-seasonal (I’m moving forward) comment. Accessories in this case being the all important touch and I’m good to go.

It was a fabulous great evening actually and a chance for me to catch up with all my ‘This Morning,’ and GMTV mates. I’ve been on an off those shows for years so I’m an honorary ‘daytime poppet,’ and that’s despite not being a blonde!

Anyway, M&S won my award (helping to raise nearly a million this year) and Next were very pleased with themselves bagging at least five separate awards with one for best shop layout that they’ve never one before. They were sitting on the table to my left and whooping with delight everytime their name was called because they are all happy in their work. I thought you’d like to know that.

What a stunning shade of pink Caryn! I’m experimenting more and more with colour as I’ve been shedding a few lbs and have more confidence to try new styles on my wee 5’2″ size 12-14 frame. Enjoy your blogs lots, they help me keep an eye on what’s in vogue and will suit me.
