I know I don’t look very pleased about my first outing in my over the knee boots! It may be something to do with the fact that it was rather early in the morning just before London Fashion Week kicked off (so in truth this item should be ‘Last week I was mostly wearing…’ but who cares).
Also the fledgling camera woman, Roseby 8, was very strict with her instructions about standing still and not messing about.
Anyway I thought I’d discuss the look which had to be multi-purpose:
1. Layers for taking on and off
2. Colour and print so that I didn’t look like a hardened fashion hack all in black during the little soundbites I gave for I don’t know how many ‘dot com’ crews and ordinary workaday film crews
3. Comfortable for God sake.
And I’m still loving my tunics of last season as you can see. Only this time round, I’m not wearing them with skinny jeans and flats but leggings and my new high boots.
The hemline is higher up my leg than I would normally do (without trousers underneath). But, as the boots go up so high too, I don’t think I’m looking at all out of order!
As you could have predicted, I don’t subscribe to rules about what is age inappropriate anyway – for me it’s much more to do with balance and proportion. The later is covered in my body shape e-books but the former is covered in my newly updated ‘Ageless Style’ e-book.
(It used to be called 40 plus e-book and I think we are all agreed it’s not about age and that’s one of the reasons why I overhauled it). Hope you enjoy reading it.

I agree that it is not all about age and you can still be stylish and look good at any age by adapting the trends of that season. Just by adding new accessories or bag or shoes/boots can be enough to update your look but not look like you are trying too hard to look younger.

I’ve got a feeling your e-book server was burning hot this weekend!
Anyway – all bought and downloaded onto my desktop.
This book should be handed out on the NHS, instead of pills and HRT. It’s a real tonic for anyone 40+ who’s struggling to maintain dignity and pride, in this youth/thin obsessed society.
I really applaud your stance on beauty, Caryn. Really intelligent writing and really helpful tips. (Great Xmas gift for a switched-on granny too)
Your insight into shopping and emotions on p.36 was brilliant. Recommended reading!
Lovely Lisa
