At last, the project that I have given my life to these last few months is done!

All Walks Beyond the Catwalk took place last night at London Fashion Week. And with an opening address by Sarah Brown wife of the Prime Minister Gordon Brown, (who has been a constant support) we kicked off a fantastic event.

Erin O’Connor and I (OK I know it’s hard to tell between me and the super beauty…we’re practically twins) have a hug at the end of the evening which introduced models in designer wear who were a more realistic range of sizes: standard model size UK 8 through to UK 16. (Erin, I and Debra Bourne are co-founders of this charity event in association with BEAT).

As well as seeing curvy women, it was wonderful to see older women (Valerie is 65 and Cecilia is 42) looking so good in their clothes at London Fashion Week. And great to get endorsements from everyone on the industry in support including Alexandra Schulman editor of British Vogue, Top photographers Rankin and Nick Knight, model Icon Twiggy and many more.

If the  event was  about anything, it was showing how women of all ages and sizes are beautiful because of theirindividuality. That’s something this site has always stood for and our attitude as well as practical styling advice for your body is what we specialise in!

Thank you so much for giving my daughter the encouragement she needed to strutt her stuff at the show – she was terribly bullied in her teens at school because of her height and size – simply because she wasn’t a size 10!

Hurrah for normal sized people – love Carole

Hi Jacqui thanks for your comments. It is a complicated subject I agree the fashion industry has to address this. Fill in a contact form on the All Walks site then we have on your on record. http://www.allwalks.org
