Black and White

Last night I was at the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer launch, of which, I am co-chair along with Amanda Wakeley.

I caught up with singer Beverly Knight who had been talking about the event on Twitter  and promised to spread the word about the campaign -good woman! Here we are chatting to Professor Alan Ashworth about the latest advances he and his team have made (which involves a breakthrough in destroying cancer cells).

And I could have eaten a gazillion of these cakey marvels pictured below, had they not been such wheaty treats (I just can’t do it to myself because the next day I feel really rough). Anyway I digress.

The campaign this year takes a brand new approach with loads of wonderful (but essentially black and white) items from key supporting retailers like River Island, MY WADROBE.COM and Marks and Spencer to name but a few who all donate 30% of the cost of the item straight to the cause.

Celebrities like June Sarpong, Sarah Cox and many more are pledging their support by being in the poster campaign and the million model catwalk created by the Velo Agency where you can upload your picture and model on the virtual catwalk in your favourite black and white outfit donated by the above retailers is an inspired way to create interest amongst younger women. Hey I didn’t say it was exclusively for the teens and twenty somethings though. I’m very confident I can strutt my stuff too (I’ve got plenty of tips for you if you feel a touch under confididant) and I’m going to have a go just to log my support.

I’m saying congratulations to the team especially Natalie Legg who worked tirelessly to make it all happen and I’m leaving you with this rather marvellous bra and knickers set which retails at 20 marvellous pounds and donates 6 immediately to fight for a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
