My last post was all about monochrome; I’m a big fan of a bit of black and white for a variety of reasons but let’s swing some change!
As you know I like to give you a steer in my monthly newsletters (you can subscribe by filling in the left hand boxes on the home page) about what to spend your money on.
In February I was recommending a brightly coloured bag (I fancied orange, it being the colour of the season after all).
You might have recoiled in horror at the thought, but here’s something to wet your whatsit! Look at the array of bags I found backstage recently at a gig I was doing. The great thing about working in fashion us you get to see things in action like these adorable block colour hand baggage items and it’s infectious.
Starting from left Electra our stylist got hers from H&M for around £20. Kat another of our marvellous stylists bought her petite quilted Chanel copy from Primark for £6 and Ariane Poole our favourite make-up artist bought her orange holdall on a cruise for around £100.00
If you are wondering how to add this sizzle to your wardrobe, don’t feel you have to go all matchy matchy with other tonally compatible accessories. I took a bright red bag out with me yesterday to brighten up the black boots and black trench I was wearing and it worked a treat.
It’s a great way to inject some modernity into your wardrobe immediately and has an ageless appeal so don’t go thinking it is not for you. An attitude of ageless style is something we can all get to grips with – let me show you how!

Hi,
I love bright handbags/ shoes. They are a great way to liven up an outfit. I had a fab pair of fushia patent trainers, but they split and I had to return them.
