Forward thinking

This month your favourite retailers roll out their new collections for autumn and winter to show members of the press. It’s great for those of us working online because we can relay it all to you immediately so that you can be informed in time to buy your summer wardrobes.

Not so your average print reader who will have to wait till August.

If you hadn’t already sussed it, this works well for you because you can build in a certain amount of longevity to your summer looks and choose clothes now with the knowledge of the shapes that will be coming.

Anyway I thought I’d make a small comparison here just for the fun of it and also because it gives me a chance to fit in this Alexander McQueen look that has been on my desktop pleasing me every time I see it.

I loved this collection but it’s too deep fashion for the message we at howtolookgood work with.  It does however give me the chance to show you how your favourite retailers in this case New Look, go about giving you the trend but with much more accessibility.

You can see the references in the clothes in this picture: black and red colour combos/oversized print/capped sleeves etc. but without the theatrical presentation – we hardened fashion types like a fashion moment and it’s shows like McQueen’s that deliver but whether you need all the extra, is another matter!

So for no nonsense fashion information about what to wear and how to wear it to suit your shape we remain your humble servants!

New Look designs aren’t yet avaialable until autumn, so this is why there is no link!
