My emergency service

I am so busy right now on the event that I’m not supposed to talk about that I’m losing the will to live.

Not caring about that I look like (which I know will be a bit of a shocker to hear) is part of the deal and I have cabin fever on account of the fact that I’m in my office for up to 10 hours a day.

The thing is, when you are regularly working into the wee small hours as I have been since May on a charity event that leaves no time round the edges of life for parenting and normal stuff then visits to the dry cleaners, the hairdressers and other such fripperies become pure fantasy.

That would be fine if I wasn’t in the business of image! My dress from Smiths in Kensal Green

I was going to share with you a picture of me at my desk looking the antithesis of fashion guru…Hey you are my ‘homies’ so I can be honest here.

Then I realised that those are the sorts of pics that get picked up and circulated so everyone can have a laugh.

And because I’m in the business of explaining how clothes can help you to look great whatever your shape I thought it would be very silly of me to set myself up. I’m sure you understand!

So this is me making an effort before I attend yet another meeting on said project. Thank goodness for my local shop Smiths in Kensal Green that does great sample clothes. I picked up this dress for £40. With no time to shop, they are practically an emergency service for me!

I added a small thin strip of glitter scarf which I got an age ago but kept for this very moment and I’m good to go. Nay I’m restored to my former shiny self and ready to leap back into the fray!

A bit of self styling can perk me up. What about you?
