boot-3

Yesterday I excitedly picked out four pairs of boots in Harvey Nichols to try on because they were… how shall we say…wearable? It’s a word I use advisedly because I can’t stand fashion speak but in this instance I really mean it.
I never put myself out for a trend and prioritise only clothes and accessories that are providing a decent service in terms of comfort or figure fixing ability as any regular to this blog or reader will know.

I’m fed up with skyscraper heels that should be accompanied by a hazard warning and a free taxi voucher to casualty, and have been looking for something lower. I’m sorry to say that the styles I found were sold out in my size so everyone else is clearly keen too.

Today I saw this little gem of a thing and will be investigating further. The shoe is from a company sorry a ‘fancy footwear establishment,’ called ‘Rakish Heels,’ and I’m liking the policy of decorated heel covers that give a two in one hit. Not to mention the ‘walkability,’ factor.

In case you’re wondering, Rakish (ray-kish) is an old English word meaning
bold, fashionable, with attitude, different from the norm.

I’m loving them already.

Oh, for a beautiful pair of low-heeled shoes that aren’t a wedge! I’ve been wearing only boots these last years along with my good sneakers because I can’t find anything that looks like anything that isn’t either a flat or a “skyscraper.” Thanks for the link. Sarah

Having just been late night shopping in search of some ‘party shoes’, i couldn’t help but share in this blog! All i want is some glam, danceable shoes for xmas parties, but no, they all would have me in agony. I even commented to one sales assistant that i think men must be designing them just to have a good laugh at our expense! When will they bring back a good 2.5-3″ manageable heel, arrrrgh! Happy hunting everyone!
