Dear Caryn,

My brother is getting married New Year’s Eve. I am 30 years of age, 5ft 11″ and a size 14. Dark hair. Top heavy. Great legs.

Any tips on what to wear or where I should be looking?

Thanks

Aisling

Hello Aisling

Look for a dress that has some swing in the skirt to balance out your top half and also flirtily draw attention to your fabulous pins. Long Tall Sally have some really chic options that can be styled up beautifully.

A dress with a v-neck or a style that creates the illusion of a longer neck will also magically make your bosom look smaller. Try styling with attention seeking shoes and maybe compliment them with a textured or coloured hosiery. The focus they receive will draw the eye down the body.

You say you have lovely legs so great – go ahead and show them off. Otherwise if you want some alternative style options opt for a maxi dress or a wide leg jumpsuit – which will also balance out your top half. For a chic yet seductive look why not try a fish tail skirt teamed with a simple camisole. The shape will show off curves and yet the ‘fishtail’ will give your shape symmetry. You can ramp up any of these looks with some coloured accessories.

Here are some styles from South at Isme.com, Tall Girls and ASOS.
