This week I am mostly wearing men’s jeans.

I do love a pair of mannish dark denim jeans.

You can’t see my brogues but rest assured I’m wearing them to go with my Lee Jeans bought from Supra – a local store where I live. I’m often browsing in the menswear section…I love the cuts better than women’s.

I like a playful girly touch though… flashes of red here and there (my new Ray Ban prescription lenses are doing their best work doncha think? and a NOTICE ME scarf-style-snood does the trick.

I’m never happier in clothes that are comfortable…maybe it’s an age thing but when I think back to what I used to wear – shoes that needed a pilot’s licence to stay in an upright position high above the kerb, or slithers of fabric that passed as dresses, I am glad to be happily 50ish. YES I’M LOVING ME AT 53

Important to say those things you know because the media would have us believe it’s all doom and gloom after 40. And important to say to designers women my age love fashion too!

Perhaps I will load my pic up on Avenue 57 – who collect pictures of ordinary women looking happy and dressed in their finery. And when I grow up I can send my pic into my favourite website Advanced Style – the site that features women in their 80′s and 90′s. They look so fine. How fine are you feeling today?

I love the fact your wearing men’s jeans and you’re comfortable with telling us. (Can’t believe your 53!) That’s exactly where the Boyfriend style originated from. I remember wearing an ex- boyfriends Levis 501′s in the 80′s. Now the denim brands have re-worked the boyfriend style to be slimmer and a touch more feminine with a higher waist.
