High street fashion Easy Luxe

By Laura Emerald

Autumn/winter’s Easy Luxe fashion trend provided chunky, sculptural knits to look chic and keep warm in; the ultimate winter coat; the return of velvet for evening and the season’s key trouser – and they are all on a high street near you now.

velvet dress

Velvet
Velvet was back for the party season and its return spelled one thing – glamour.

This velvet gown at Marks and Spencer has it all. Smokey grey is a chic alternative to black, whilst the ruched panel at the front of this curve hugging number ensures every figure is flattered. With a dress as glamorous as this wear heels, even kitten heels, but go for subtle jewellery, jet beads or muted pewter will accent with out overpowering this striking evening look.

slouchy trousers

Slouchy trousers
Miss Selfridges’s slouchy trousers are comfortable enough to wear all day – yet are still polished enough for the most important business meeting.

Grey is more subtle than black, less harsh and easy to team with almost every colour. The matching jacket has all the right proportions. Team with a heel (even a low one) for the optimum slim line silhouette.

sculptural knits

Sculptural Knits
Simply Be’s oversize knit is comfortable, affordable, and with its architectural pattern totally on-trend for this season.

Oversize motif cardigans achieve what the designer knits on the catwalk did – they offer something fresh and new that anyone can wear, while still providing warmth and comfort on long winter nights.

Team with everything from jeans and boots to leggings and pumps. You really can’t go wrong with a knit like this.

camel coat

The Camel Coat
A great coat should always be an investment, and the chances are you have already a black coat in your wardrobe. So if you want some new outerwear but you want something different that also has real staying power opt for winter’s statement piece –the camel coat. This double breasted version by Lisa Butcher for Long Tall Sally has all the hallmarks of the catwalk’s most expensive designer versions, with chic gold buttons and an exquisite fuchsia lining, you’ll want to show off as much as the coat itself.
