So

Question, “Dear Caryn I’m a production
manager at a local firm, in my mid forties and have
a work do coming up. I’m worried that I can’t
get away with the little black dress anymore, what can
I do to enhance what I still have and also make me stand
out at the party. I don’t want to look like mutton
dressed as lamb, and I have a 36C bust but hate plunging
necklines. Please help, what is the solution?"
Rachel
Hi Rachel, the little black dress will be the perfect
solution for you, it just requires some fashion know
how! I have searched the stores to find a great solution.
A black one shoulder dress, I think it is perfect for
you, its simple and sexy. This dress will work for you
as the one shoulder neckline and means you’ll
feel comfortable and confident as there will be no cleavage
on show.
Many a look is sabotaged because the right under garments
are missing. You need the right strapless underwired
bra; you can look for a multi – way feature that
allows you to wear one strap.
Now you have the underwear sorted, all you have to do
is smile.

Question: “Dear Caryn, I am tall with a quite
angular figure, broad shoulders and quite defined muscles
for a girl, and I’m looking for something to wear
for autumn that will flatter my figure and help me to
feel sexy. I have a few cardigans and jackets but I
always think they don’t really suit me and now
I am getting desperate to find something that I can
wear straight out in the evening after work too. Please
help me." Debra
Hi Debra, I have come across a gorgeous velvet jacket
that I call soft tailoring, as it has no shoulder pads
and this means that it will really flatter your broad
shoulders, Velvet is also a great fabric that can be
dressed down in the day when working and then dressed
up with some simple accessories when you leave work
and go out for the evening. This jacket is also something
that will go with a lot of your wardrobe from dresses
to jeans and will definitely make you feel sexy.

Dear Caryn, "I have been out window shopping
lots lately and I’ve seen a loads of leopard print
around, I’ve always loved it, but my boyfriend
think it looks common. Can I get away with wearing it
and still look classy?" Sally
Hi Sally, I know exactly I know what you mean, leopard
print can look
Tacky, but this season this print is combined with the
new trend of volume and chic tailoring and this will
give it a more sophisticated edge. The key is to not
wear your leopard skin too tight to the body. I suggest
a leopard print cardigan. I love it because it‘s
a basic that you can work into your current wardrobe,
with jeans, simple skirts and trousers; it will also
look absolutely fabulous with the new platform heels!
It is also not over brash so definitely will not make
you feel uncomfortable. I also highly suggest wearing
it with a thin red belt to finish off the look.

Question. “Dear Caryn, I’m 27 and love
all the new season clothes that are coming through in
the magazines at the moment, I brought last winter’s
must have coat, which is black, that I absolutely adore
and it suits me so well. But I can’t really afford
to change it, so is there any way that I can stay cool
with my friends without spending a fortune and ruining
my relationship with the bank manager?" Elizabeth
Yes Elizabeth I have the solution for you. It’s
fabulous that you have the right coat, and I think the
perfect finish would be a pair of gloves - like a good
pair of sunglasses can complete your summer look - the
autumn needs it’s own accessories. You don’t
have to spend a fortune, so I suggest investing in a
good pair of leather gloves that look stylish, sexy
and cool, and wont break the bank. The ones I have chosen
are from Next and come in a variety of colours, so you
can chose from black, red or tan. They are good leather
and will last. Red in particular is very much on trend
for the new season’s clothes, and will look great
teamed with any black coat. Enjoy!

PS. make sure the gloves
work with your shoes for maximum catwalk cool!

Question. "Hi Caryn, I’m a size 16 with
fairly chunky arms, that I don’t like showing
too much, and want some advice from you about what I
can buy on a budget and what would suit my body shape.
I got a great pair of jeans from Hennes that all my
friends think look great, I now need a jacket to wear.
One that will be good for now as well as later in the
autumn. Do you have any advice for me?" Gill
Hi Gill; first can I let me celebrate how good it
is to hear that you are happy with your figure. There
are a lot of women out there who don’t like their
body shape for one reason or another - this is not helped
by magazines that show celebrities with eating disorders.
Yes I do have the perfect item for you that will go
with jeans or skirts and I think is a real investment.
It’s a raspberry Mac from Marks and Spencer and
will jazz up any outfit. It also, more importantly,
won’t cling to your arms like some jackets/coats
can, so you’ll feel comfortable and stylish too!
