It’s June and time to have fun with summer fashion. The trends are featured in our catwalk and high street sections but here I’ve answered five of your questions from my mailbag. I can’t tell you the satisfaction it gives me to pass on my fashion secrets to you. Question ‘Dear Caryn, Everyone seems to be able to get jeans to fit them except me and I am tearing my hair out. You see the problem is I have a big bottom and a tiny waist. I’d call myself hourglass, but I’ve been told the term is apple bottom jeans, which means that the waists of jeans never fit my shape. In fact they gape away from my body in a really unattractive way. What can you suggest surely there is a pair of jeans out there for me.” Jo.

Hi Jo, Oh how I love this job. Yes my curvy lovely there is. This is because Felicity Kwafo has been very busy on your behalf. It all started when she too could not find that fit she was looking for around the waist. Question: “Hi Caryn Can you help? I’m going to be married on an exotic beach in Tobago and finding the dress is proving harder than I ever thought possible. I don’t want anything that looks like a traditional shape and I don’t have much money to spend. I’m quite slight too. What do you think of buying a white gypsy style dress from the high street or is there something a little bit more special out there?” Kelly

Hi Kelly. The short answer to that is yes there is! Question. “Hi Caryn I love your site and think it is great that there is information for those of us who don’t conform to the ‘normal’ sizes we see in the shops. I have always struggled with footwear because I have an incredible narrow foot and whilst there seem to be loads of shoe fittings for wider feet, I find I have to pay a lot of money for mine. I’d love a pair of those gold ballet pumps but I find I have to stick to fairly conventional styles because I need my shoes to last me much longer than one season because they are so expensive to buy in the first place.” Margaret.

Question. “I don’t have any sizing issues; I just want some nice jewellery. You don’t have a jewellery section on your website but I wish you did. I’ve searched myself but I keep finding craft or ethnic styles when I want something a bit more innovative. Can you give me a steer? Hi Caroline yes on both counts. Question. I have a party to go to soon where the host is a very individual quirky dresser. She loves jeans but always has a home made top or something very individual. I want to take a gift that looks like I have thought about her and rather than opt for the ususal creams and lotions and I’d like to give her an unusual bag.
