Current fashion trends for spring 2008 are in the stores now and on our home page you’ll see I have featured my favourite 2008 spring fashion trends from the catwalk and the high street.

Fashion is also frivolous and feminine as you’ll see from the floaty floral dresses I’m showing you. It may seem early to buy one but I’ve seen lots of stylists wearing their dresses with skinny jeans and faded denim jackets until warmer weather arrives…

Question: “Dear Caryn
I have brought a great pair of black trousers that I am saving for when I go out in the evening. I want to buy a sexy top to go with them that will cover in particular my stomach area. I love wearing black as it is sliming but I am prepared to add some colour to brighten up my look, shall I do this with accessories?"

You can brighten up any look with accessories such as shoes, handbag or a bracelet but why not start to wear a bit more colour in your clothes. Black is streamlining and that’s why, for the majority of women it becomes their staple colour for their wardrobe, but also it can be very draining and stern.

Colour blocking is a great way to add colour without going full on, Take this camisole top that I have created for Simply Be as part of my new range. It has a two colour blocks - one across the waist and one as a frill down the middle, this is where bright colour can be streamlining creating a smaller looking waist.

I love all the little floral dresses that are around at the moment. I Practically live in mine and wear them with opaque tights and boots, now spring is coming how else can I style them to look different apart from bare legs?"

Hi Sam
1920's tea dresses as they are known in fashion terms are everywhere and very comfortable to wear whilst also being feminine. Going forward to summer you could wear them with a pair of gladiator style sandals check out Office in our shopping shoe section - they have a good range of these sandals. Wear also with a waistcoat, which you might have currently in your wardrobe, as Kate Moss does.

Question. "Dear Caryn
I am a size 14 with slim legs, slightly big thighs; big waist and I have love handles which I just can't seem to hide. I love the skinny jean look but never know what top to wear that will flatter my figure? Should I wear skinny jeans? Also can you recommend jean brands that are fair trade?"

Hi Chloe
You sound like a classic apple shape. Yes you can wear skinny jeans just go for dark denim as these will flatter you more. To flatter your top half go for a volume top. I have found a great site in our shopping mall called www.adili.com who sells clothing that is ethical and fair trade, check out the silk pleated top in hot pink as that will look great with the jeans which are also from the site and from the brand Howie. You can always add a cardigan if you are cold. Accessorise with a colour thin belt in the jeans loop, again this will help to bring eyes down away from your hips. Finally team with wedges to show off your legs!
