How to Look Good at the Birmingham Pavillions September 2011

3 days of fashion and make0ver as part of Birmingham Style Weekend

A recent How to Look Good Show took place at the Birmingham Pavillions, where we included models of all ages in our Autumn looks runway.  It was great to see the audience reaction! Women positively beamed because you know what? We all like to see a choice of beauty and body ideals!

Our models ranged from 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 and we fitted them all in the great highstreet fashion featured within the Pavillions Shopping Mall.

One of the fun aspects were our make overs given to winners of a competition run by the Birmingham Evening Mail. These featured Kim, Bal and Mandy who as you can see from the picture below are feeling super glamourous now that they have had the full treatment from top make up artist Ariane Poole and a whole new hair look by the hair team Royston Blythe.

Bal, Kim and Mandy before...

And afterwards!

Bal says “I always loved shopping but since my makeover I have gained so much confidence in actually buying clothes that I now know are right for me, plus I actually wear them instead of just looking at them hanging in my wardrobe. I wear more colours now too and I’m even starting to get used to wearing makeup!”

Kim says “Since my makeover at Pavilions with Caryn Franklin I wear more heels, dresses and I absolutely love wearing accessories too. I definitely feel like a yummy mummy now and love strutting in to work each day. I feel fabulous!”

Mandy says “My makeover with Caryn Franklin has really inspired me to start loving clothes again, I have even bought a dress from Hobbs for my son’s wedding and I can’t wait to wear it! Caryn’s online Ebooks have really helped me too,  I found lots of extra advice to give me confidence.”

One of the loveliest things was seeing the audience reaction when each woman stepped out it was an emotional moment for some…needless to say each woman felt she had learned a lot about her own body and how to pick the clothes to suit her.

As usual our styling was handled by Claire Ginzler with thanks to Paul Ward photography

How to look Good at the National Wedding Show February/March 2011

3 days at Earls Court and then again at Birmingham’s N.E.C

live events

Our longest running How to Look Good event takes place four times a year at the National Wedding Show. Over a period of days we give magical make overs to brides, grooms and mums as part of our informative show which covers all aspects of creating the look our bride wants for her big day.

mother of the bride

We love to work with Brides, Grooms and Mother of the Brides to create beautiful live make -overs many times each day over the three day event. We work with top hairdressers Errol Douglas, Lisa Shepherd and Royston Blythe and our favourite make-up artist Arianne Poole, and backstage stylists Claire Ginzler and Electra James create the magical wow factor.

Of course we give lots of Ageless Style advice and Body Shape advice along the way and we’ve had great feedback from women young and old alike who feel we’ve given them real insight into looking their best on the big day.

Sandra pictured here brought the house down with her swanky hair piece and sizzling look by Dressini. Actually everyone thought she was a model which tickled her and her kids!

Of course there were plenty of others like Rachel who said, ‘This has given me the confidence to believe I can do it on the big day. It’s amazing I would have never put myself in a dress. I can’t get over how wonderful I look.”

One of the things we love to do is give our mum plenty of styling tools to help them on the big day… and we always finish by telling them about our free Ageless Style ebooks.
