bridal - fantasy
Many brides want something out of the ordinary. A castle setting often
inspires a more lavish style wedding and therefore a gown to match. With
a fantasy dress as well as buying from a shop you may work with a designer
or have your own ideas.

A regal frock coat and gown would be perfectly suited for a stately home
or remote castle setting. This one by RS couture is perfect for
a standard shaped figure. No website so

If you want the billowing dress, a gown like this one by Hollywood
Dreams will give a fairy tale effect. The fitted corset is great for
all shapes but especially fuller brides it holds and moulds,
as we say in the trade. A good corset, which is boned and fitted to replace
your bra will give you fantastic confidence. www.hollywooddreams.co.uk

Found this look from Essence to illustrate a great style for a
taller shape. See how the width and flamboyance of the fluted sleeve creates
focus at the middle of the body. The low and horizontal neckline together
with the beading at the hem of the bodice is also another way of breaking
up the vertical line. www.essencedesigns.com

Love this gown by Sharon Bowen. Petite brides can also have the
full Monty, without worrying that it is too much in a small
space. Just make sure the skirt is isnt too full. See here, how
the light frock coat and Nehru style collar give height to the body. www.couturestudio.com
how to look good
Colour is a wonderful addition to a fantasy style wedding. Remember
though that if you choose the popular style of B/W photography then a
colour like red will appear as black as will any red or purple flowers.
To check whether a colour is suitable for your skin - tone, hold
it to your face in daylight. Does it make your eyes seem more vibrant
or do they become dull in comparison. Does your skin glow or look pallid.
Women with yellow in their skin should avoid buttery colours and choose
ivories and blush pinks, lilacs and silvers. Those with pinkie skins always
do well with ivory and those will dark skin should avoid bright white
and plump for off white, taupe, putty (or of course any of the brighter
colours like red and deep pink).
A good designer incorporates many extra details into their garments
like hidden pockets, a feature to loosen the dress for sitting etc. You
must find out whether your chosen designer is reliable and supportive
before you commission them. Ask to see pictures of the dresses they have
already made and insist on speaking to these former clients to check that
everything ran smoothly.
